MOTHER NATURE'S DOG

Wherever wolves and wild canines run free, indigenous cultures have revered them as symbols of loyalty, free will, fearlessness and unity. But they haven’t had it easy in North America, where negative myths prevail. Fear-based stereotypes, the fur trade, antiquated, senseless and cruel cultural concepts such as “recreational” hunting and “pest control,” and use of public lands for life stock ranching has resulted in Mother Nature’s dogs being culled and persecuted --- in some cases to the point of near-extinction. Wild canines, which include fox, coyote and wolves, play an important role in ecology and have a right to live freely in their natural environments. #MotherNaturesDog #WomenWildernessWildlife
